ABOUT BAMAKO – BLACK & OAK KITCHEN
Introducing Bamako — a striking bespoke black-oak kitchen where modern minimalism meets natural timber warmth. This project showcases how bold matte cabinetry and textured oak can be combined to create a refined, characterful kitchen that’s built to last.
From the outset, our aim was to balance sleek, contemporary aesthetics with the warmth and character of wood. The contrast between the deep black cabinetry and reclaimed oak fronts brings depth and tactile richness — a kitchen that feels modern, grounded, and bespoke in every detail.
Bamako goes beyond just a place to cook: it’s a carefully considered living space. With thoughtful layout decisions, clever storage solutions, and ambient lighting, the design reflects our commitment to bespoke kitchen design, durability, and sustainable craftsmanship.

- Materials: Reclaimed oak for cabinet fronts and shelving, paired with black matte cabinetry (black Forbo finish) for a durable, tactile, and high-contrast look.
- Worktops: High-performance Fenix worktops — chosen for their durability, resilience, and seamless matte finish, complementing the cabinetry while offering practical everyday usability.
- Island & Layout: A tiered island creating defined zones for cooking, socialising, and storage — with shelving and storage thoughtfully integrated to keep the kitchen streamlined yet functional.
- Lighting & Details: Subtle under-cabinet LED lighting, open shelving to display items, and custom drawers with twisted drawer pulls — details that reinforce the bespoke, handcrafted nature of the design.
