ABOUT THE VALCHROMAT KITCHEN

Introducing the Valchromat Kitchen — a bespoke design by Wood Works Brighton that embraces bold colour, durability and modern craftsmanship. For this project, we chose Valchromat cabinetry as the feature material: a richly pigmented, high‑density, moisture‑resistant wood‑fibre panel engineered for performance, longevity and aesthetic versatility.

This kitchen is not about off‑the‑shelf conformity — it’s about individuality, quality and sustainable design mechanics. By combining Valchromat doors with bespoke carpentry and carefully considered surfaces, we crafted a kitchen that stands up to everyday life while making a strong visual statement.

The Valchromat Kitchen shows how a carefully selected engineered wood‑fibre panel can deliver not only colour and character, but also reliability and eco‑consciousness — a true modern bespoke kitchen for the environmentally and design‑minded homeowner.

KITCHEN HIGHLIGHTS

  1. Bold, coloured cabinetry using Valchromat — adding depth, character and an expressive aesthetic rarely found in conventional kitchens.
  2. Use of sustainable, engineered panel products — reflecting a commitment to eco‑conscious materials in bespoke kitchen design.
  3. A bespoke layout tailored to the client’s lifestyle, blending design, function and durability — proving a custom kitchen can be both beautiful and built to last.

KITCHEN DETAILS

  • Cabinet Doors & Panels: Valchromat — dyed throughout its structure using organic dyes, then resin‑bonded and engineered for strength, moisture resistance, and mechanical durability. Valchromat is on average stronger and more stable than traditional MDF, making it ideal for busy kitchen environments.
  • Sustainability & Eco‑Credentials: Valchromat is produced using recycled wood fibres and mill waste from softwood forests, often sourced under FSC/PEFC certification. Because it is coloured through the core, any scratches or machined edges retain the same colour — reducing the need for repainting or replacement.
  • Durability & Build Quality: The high‑density structure of Valchromat offers superior load-bearing capacity, consistent mechanical strength and resistance to bending — important factors for long-term durability and stability in cabinetry.
  • Finish & Maintenance: The panels can be finished with matte lacquer, oil, wax or varnish to suit the desired aesthetic and to seal them for use in a kitchen environment. Their “through‑colour” nature means minor surface wear shows less than on painted finishes — a practical advantage for a busy kitchen.
