We are delighted to share this stunning hand-built Midcentury inspired Sapele kitchen boasting a hidden walk in pantry.
Often with a seemingly simple design, comes complicated processes. Careful consideration was paid when picking out the materials for this project.
Our clients had strong feelings towards a midcentury style kitchen. A corner in the room was also carved out early on for a hidden walk in pantry. We knew that Sapele hard wood was going to be the lead material for its rich natural colour. We wanted the walk in pantry to be its own statement piece, so we uted the walls, created a ush sliding door and painted a contrasting colour to the natural wood.
The bespoke kitchen design evolved organically. We integrated the handles seamlessly into the design giving the kitchen a strong midcentury touch. Although the wood is naturally dark, we challenged this by adding uted glass to drawers and doors.
It is all in the small details that stand out for us. The brave idea to go with a oating island is now clearly the right choice. It further helps to “ lighten” the dark Sapele wood.
