7 Top Kitchen Projects of 2024

Looking for kitchen design inspiration? In this blog, we’ll share 7 of our standout kitchen projects from 2024, each tailored to meet our clients’ unique needs and style preferences.

1. Embu – Our Midcentury Kitchen

Our clients were inspired by midcentury design as the basis for their new kitchen. Knowing that rich warm-toned Sapele hardwood would be the lead material for the cabinets, we opted to paint the fluted doors of the walk-in pantry in a contrasting muted green – Farrow & Ball’s Cooking Apple Green.

Key Features: Sapele hardwood and fluted glass cabinetry | a spacious walk-in pantry | a floating island unit, elevated on elegant legs | cream, orange and black terrazzo worktops

2. Nakuru – Our Painted Shaker Kitchen

This classic and elegant kitchen features a handpainted shaker door design for a refined finish. From the start, our client was clear on their chosen colour scheme. The plum-coloured cabinets are complemented by a blush pink fluted island/breakfast bar and soft pink hex tiles.

We love the addition of the solid oak ‘hit and miss’ wall which conceals a lovely big walk-in pantry. This is a wonderfully tranquil space.

Key Features: blush pink island and plum cabinets | blush hex tiles | fluted oak walk-in pantry

3. Lundazi – Our Modern Luxe Open Plan Kitchen

This understated masterpiece of a kitchen exudes a combination of industrial cool and luxurious sophistication.

We can’t get enough of the green marble worktop and upstand: such a statement of opulence and functionality. The chunky concrete, vintage black-stained oak and patinated brass are the perfect balance of materials – striking sleek and earthy simultaneously. We could honestly write about the appeal of this kitchen all day long!

Key Features: concrete and green marble worktops | black-stained oak cabinets | patinated brass accents | black Valchromat | gantry feature for plants

4. Umlazi – Our Eco-Friendly Sleek & Modern Kitchen

The minimal kitchen cabinets of Umlazi are crafted from bandsaw oak, Forbo and Valchromat – these materials add an organic touch in tune with the Passive House’s sustainable design ethos.

This stylishly muted kitchen is a luxurious space for cooking and socialising, with state-of-the-art appliances and a bar for entertaining guests.

Key Features: oak, Forbo and Valchromat cabinets | black Valchromat island with fluted accent | double-sided bar area

With Kilfi, our clients wanted a stylish but functional chef’s kitchen, so we created a commercial-style stainless steel nook fully equipped with a range cooker, wall tap and spacious drawers for pots and pans.

The cut-out handles and sleek wall cabinets with sliding fluted glass doors compliment the simple and elegant Japandi design. The striking marble worktops and upstands are both visually appealing and practical for a busy kitchen.

Key Features: fluted glass and oak cabinets | amber-veined cream Evora marble worktops | stainless steel hardware and commercial-style cooking area

6. Likasi – Our Bespoke Oak Kitchen

This contemporary kitchen features pure natural oak cabinets which provide the perfect foil to the dramatic charcoal-stained fluted oak island.
For the island, Francois was inspired by the contours of a Slinky spring toy – you’ll notice the fluidity of the fluting, as it varies in size. The black terrazzo worktop and upstand also makes a real style statement in this space.

Key Features: three-layer oak cabinets | charcoal-stained fluted oak island | black terrazzo worktops and backsplash

And now for the finale… Kiambu – Our Scandi Oak Kitchen with DJ Booth!

By day, Kiambu is an elegantly understated oak kitchen – a pleasing fusion of Scandi and Japanese design aesthetics. However, the best feature has to be a hidden pull-out DJ booth that comes out to play for parties!

This solid oak kitchen is all about showcasing quality materials through the simplicity of its design. We love the curves and fluted wood that contrast perfectly with the straighter lines and flatter surfaces.

Key Features: the bespoke concealed pull-out DJ booth | the curved, fluted oak island | sleek Bianco Misterio quartz worktops | black accents
